We are a small urban homestead carving out our niche in the self-sufficient and homesteading movement by employing natural and organic practices to grow produce and raise livestock. At the heart of our business are worms, which serve as a vital natural soil amendment. A popular saying goes, “Humanity owes its existence to the top six inches of earth.” And what inhabits that layer, creating the nutrient base for the plants that produce the oxygen we breathe and the food we eat? Worms! Alongside fungi and microorganisms, these creatures digest nature’s leftovers and transform them into nutrients through worm castings, enriching that crucial six-inch top layer of soil for other life to flourish. We have developed a method to accelerate the composting process, allowing others to enjoy naturally grown produce without the lengthy wait for compost to cure or the need to establish a process themselves, while avoiding the harmful effects that chemical fertilizers may cause.
